Grab a Cup of Coffee (and a Biscuit)
February is almost gone. We had a full week of snow last week and spent most of the time outdoors sledding, building forts to block the snowball attacks, and washing cold wet socks. I made a ton of biscuits which were perfect little snacks in between the arctic adventures. We’re so thankful for water and electricity. Ours stayed on the whole time, but I know many who were without in other parts of the country. Sending love to those in Texas!
I have some things I’ve been saving up to share with you. I hope you enjoy!
My friend Kate makes super cute baby bonnet patterns. If you sew, you gotta check them out.
Brent and I have been enjoying WandaVision on Disney Plus. It’s an interesting story based on Marvel Comics characters and honestly, I show up just for the ever-changing decade-specific wardrobe and set. I’m also crazy about the title sequence which is new every week and the commercials.
Have you guys heard of LastObject? It’s tissues, q-tips and facial pads that are all reusable. I’m so interested and would love to hear your thoughts if you’ve tried them.
We got HBO Max free with our internet service this year. I’ve discovered The Middle which I find funny. Sometimes Brent and I will unwind after a long day by watching an episode.
We also found a couple of movies on HBO Max we really enjoyed for our home date nights. Superintelligence is a modern comedy about artificial intelligence taking over the world. It stars Melissa McCarthy.
An American Pickle is a comedy/drama about an Eastern European immigrant who was stuck in a pickle vat for 100 years and comes to live in modern-day Brooklyn, NY. Seth Rogan plays both main characters.
This reader print from Carrot Top Paper Shop is so fun!
My friend, Alphonsine, recommended this podcast about Chinatowns across America. Sobering yet so good to hear their stories.
Brent and I went to the actual movies this month! We watched the new Tom Hanks movie, News of the World, and both really liked it. It’s a Western set in Texas five years post the Civil War based on this novel.
I watched this 1961 film narrated by Elizabeth Elliot which documents the story of her husband’s death and her life in Ecuador.
I really like Christa David’s artwork. You can purchase it here.
If you haven’t read my post, Racial Inequality Toward Black Americans, you can read it here.
I hope you have a wonderful warm weekend!
If you purchase from a link on this blog a small percentage of the sale may come back to me. You are never charged more for the product. It’s a way to keep this site going and I’m very selective about the things I list. It’s mostly things we already own and love or things I think you would enjoy. Thank you for reading it means so much to me!
