Simple Ideas for Self-Care

hibiscus flower in bloom

For whatever reason, it’s hard for me to relax and just enjoy. I tend to neglect myself and pour out to others. A few years back I started being kinder to myself and forced myself to take time out of each day just for me. If you’re interested you can read a deep dive into the various areas of my life in a 3 part series about my physical, mental, and spiritual health. Today I’d like to share simple things I do to give myself a boost, which usually puts a smile on my face. I hope they put a smile on yours as well.

I’m not talking about a whole afternoon for yourself, although that is nice too. I’m talking about 5-10 minutes to stop whatever I’m doing and shift to something that gives me life. This is my personal list so feel free to use whatever ideas work for you. I would also encourage you to take a few moments and jot down things that you truly enjoy and usually don’t make time for.

Cut flowers or greenery from the yard and display them in a vase indoors.
