Cherry Tree in Bloom

What are you looking forward to most this weekend? We are hanging at home mostly. I am excited about slow dinners and lots of time outside.

As a family, on Friday evenings we have been watching The Walton’s. It’s a great show to watch together, we all enjoy it plus good conversations and questions stem from the content.

I saw The Upside at the movies and really liked it. Based on a true story of a quadriplegic, it was inspiring and motivational by helping me gain perspective on how much we need others and reminded me how anyone’s dreams are possible. Have you seen any good movies recently?

The Soda Parlor: Super Chill Arcade in East Nashville

UPDATE: The Soda Parlor was hit by the March 2020 tornado that brought devastation to Nashville. Sadly, it is no longer in operation. If you are interested, they have set up a fundraiser here.

Raised counter in shop with black subway tile. The words "The Soda Parlor Nashville, TN" is in cool white font on top of the tile.

A while back one of my neighbors mentioned The Soda Parlor and I kept it in the back of my mind for such a time as this.

It’s a bit lonelier in the world now that they’ve all passed, but I’m a better person because I was able to know and spend so much time with them. Also, I feel very blessed to know all of Brent’s grandparents who are still living except his maternal grandmother, Nanny.

My Oma Wilma was a beautiful, hard working woman who never failed to impress with her ease for conversation. She always made you feel loved and well taken care of. She lived to be 90 years old and lived six years alone after my Papa Jack passed.
