Have an Enjoyable Fall Weekend
I love this week of Halloween. So much activity. So much candy. So many smiles. I’m working on being present in the moment, not thinking about what is next, but really allowing myself to enjoy whatever is before me. It’s easier said than done, but I’m hoping this weekend will be memorable.
There’s a quote by Jeannie Cunnion above my computer that reads, “I choose connection over control, wonder over worry, faith over fear, present over perfect, love over shame and grace over guilt.” I pray the same for all of you: that this weekend we’ll fully live in this beautiful life we’ve been given; that we can all take a moment to be thankful and enjoy what is right in front of us.
Below are a few things I’ve been wanting to share.
Stuff I want to share this week
Have you guys seen these mom comics? They are spot on and so funny!
Have you ever considered starting an online business? If so, my friend Cami created a podcast just for you. In this episode, Cami shares how to find time to reach your goals even in the busyness of motherhood. It’s just over 15 minutes, so you can listen on your way to grocery pick-up!
Are your kids missing their time at church? Our old church in L.A., Mosaic, has been doing a phenomenal job with church videos for kids during COVID-19. They worship, share a skit, talk about God and the Bible plus do a fun activity. Check it out here, our boys love it.
Have you heard of the drawings_for_my_grandchildren Instagram account? These 78-year-old Korean grandparents started it to connect with their grandchildren in America. If you’re interested here is more of their story. It’s the sweetest thing and they now have a book, Looking Back Life was Beautiful. Check it out!
We sang this song at church recently. So so good.
When I was at LAX back in January the baggage claim area had an art exhibit by Michiko Yao. So much beauty.
Alert: This video contains surgical procedures and super disgusting stuff. You guys this is so embarrassing but I watched Dr. Pimple Popper!! It’s so gross but entertaining at the same time. Anyone else watch it?
I found this article helpful concerning voting.
Here is a Thanksgiving song to prepare you for the season. Several members of my extended family cried when they first heard it, including me.
What is one thing you could do this weekend to make it more enjoyable?
If you purchase from a link on this blog a small percentage of the sale may come back to me. You are never charged more for the product. It’s a way to keep this site going and I’m very selective about the things I list. It’s mostly things we already own and love or things I think you would enjoy. Thank you for reading!
