Come Chat with Me

A front stoop of a brick home. A vintage motel chair which has been painted many colors over the years so it's rustic with many colors showing through. A potted plant with blooming flowers and a watering can are next to the chair.

How are you? I’m making it okay; although, at times it’s more difficult than others. We’re entering a new phase with Covid-19 social distancing. Although we are still wearing masks to most places, Nashville is beginning to open up. How are things where you live?

Due to a major wind storm, we still have a lot of work to do in our backyard to clean up the trees that fell down a few weeks ago. Our neighbors and friends have been helping cut the trees into manageable pieces and help to drag the limbs to the street so the city can haul them off. Others have brought us meals and checked in with us which has made us feel loved and at home in Nashville.

Below are some things I’ve been wanting to share. Please share your comments, I love hearing from you.

This is a great movie night snack you can cook at home. I cut the sugar by half and add a little salt. If you’ve never made popcorn in a pot on the stove you should try it! The recipe reviews will be very helpful for beginners.

Have you seen this video of churches from the UK?

Our beloved blender had a seal on the bottom of the pitcher that malfunctioned recently. I called the company since it has an 8-year warranty and they sent a new pitcher for free!

We love this pasta dish! It’s great for picnics and pot lucks. Add chicken if you want more protein.

I was inspired to buy throw pillows for my outdoor furniture. It makes me so happy every time I look at them.

A friend from high school has a small batch heirloom jewelry business called Swaying Grass Silver out of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Go check it out!

We watched this for family movie night and we all loved it!

I bought this recently for cracked heels and it seems to work well.

I enjoyed making paper hats with the kids recently. If you use a newspaper you can make kid-sized hats.

Brent and I watched this movie on a stay-at-home date night and both liked it.

Recently, I was reminded of this memorable Memorial Day weekend.

Since most of the mature trees in our backyard fell down I’m looking to plant some new trees. What trees do you love?

School is officially over for us. If you are still in the thick of remote learning or homeschooling or whatever your situation, press on. You can do it!

Have a wonderful Memorial Day weekend everyone!
