Taking Social Media Breaks

I love social media. I love taking photos, thinking of captions, commenting, catching up; I love the whole bit. On the other side of the coin, sometimes, it drains my emotional tank and leaves me empty. It’s hard to see so many people, many whom I haven’t see in person in years or have never even met in real life, go through really challenging times. I care therefore I carry the burden. Also, at times the comparison trap can grab and suffocate me.

How are you? I’m making it okay; although, at times it’s more difficult than others. We’re entering a new phase with Covid-19 social distancing. Although we are still wearing masks to most places, Nashville is beginning to open up. How are things where you live?

8 Enjoyable Family Read-Aloud Books

Reading chapter books with my boys is one of my favorite ways to connect with them. We’ve been doing it on the weekends and in the summers since Grant was about five or six years old. I’ll read to them before rest time and Brent reads to them before bed. It’s rarely a full chapter but we read a little and discuss. It’s so fun to experience the adventures with them.
