Asian Dramas that I Love

Several years ago I watched my first modern Asian drama, a Korean one, The Heirs. I was instantly hooked. It’s high schoolers from different social classes that form a relationship despite their economic differences. If you’re unfamiliar with Asian dramas they’re television series in an Asian language filmed in an Asia country. Mostly the ones I’ve watched are filmed either in South Korea or Japan. They’re stories focused on family values, careers, and romantic relationships with deep emotional themes. It’s an inside peek into another culture.

Have you ever heard a downtown referred to as a mouth full of teeth? Well, part of those teeth in Seminole, Oklahoma went up in smoke recently. On October 2, 2016 five buildings were destroyed by fire on Main Street in downtown, our old neighborhood. Thankfully, the building we used to live in was not damaged, but our hearts go out to those who lost so much.

The Russell: A Stay in Eclectic East Nashville

For our anniversary this year, we decided on a get-a-way in our own city. With COVID-19 cases rising and travel being limited we thought it would be a great opportunity to explore an area close to home. East Nashville is a hip, creative area with murals, yummy food spots and lots of color.
