3 Most Used and Most Loved Small Household Appliances

It’s so helpful to find machines that make life easier. I feel like we are living in such a cool period of time when our blenders can turn almost anything into a smoothie and no longer have to push a vacuum around our living room. Does this feel like “The Jetsons” to anyone else? Here are a few small appliances that we especially love and use daily.

Building a Passive Solar Concrete Home

I’ve mentioned before about my brother and sister-in-law who homestead in Oklahoma. As if tending to the goats and keeping up with the garden was not enough, they also decided to design and build a passive solar style home. My brother, Trevor, is building the 2,000 square foot home from the ground up using his own skills, knowledge, and strength with a few experts and skilled laborers to help along the way.

Several months ago we took a trip to Park City, Utah with Brent’s family. It was my first time and I fell in love with the posh ski town. Growing up we traveled to Colorado for skiing but I had never been to Utah. Going during the summer gave the mountains a whole different feel. Riding the chairlifts with only dirt and grass below you is quite a different experience than seeing the thick soft blanket of white snow. Somehow the snow makes me feel a little safer, more cushion you know? (more…)
