I spent twenty minutes organizing these shelves. This used to be something I did before we had guests over. No longer. It’s just not that important to me anymore. I’m really not sure why. Maybe it’s because I have less time, maybe because I’m older, or maybe it stems from something a good friend, Rebekah, once said to me.

Something that makes me smile is seeing a pretty dish towel hanging in my kitchen. Once we had our after-dinner clean-up routine down, one of the things I started to do is change out the kitchen dish towel and washcloth every night. This makes all the difference. I got the idea from The Fly Lady. It feels so good to wake up in the morning and walk into a crisp kitchen, an empty sink that is shining, and a fresh dish towel just waiting to be used.

You guys I love how paint totally changes the look of stuff. For years I have been painting various pieces of furniture around my house. It’s an easy and inexpensive way to give a new look to your space.
