A Black Tie Mistake

I know we all have stories of embarrassing things that have happened to us. Sometimes, I feel like they happen more often to me. Like the time as a high school cheerleader, I did a high kick in the middle of the football field. I kicked with so much force I landed flat on the ground. Forehead slap! The truth is I know I’m not alone. Also, the good news is MOST of the time I can laugh at myself.

You’re Loved

Emotions are high. All the feelings are coming out. Stress is in our chests and chaos is in our minds. Calm and stillness may be on our streets and in the newly vacated office buildings, but not in our hearts.

Being Still, Connecting with God

Connecting to God has looked different for me through the years. I’d like to share resources and hopefully some encouragement if you desire to spend time with God.

I first started having what some would call a “Quiet Time” when I was in college. It was a discipline I had to learn. I heard the quote, “Your discipline will become your delight.” That was very true for me. It consisted of reading a small portion of the Bible daily, sometimes just a few sentences, then prayer. I would write down names on a notecard of people I knew that needed prayer or had asked for prayer. Then I would pray.
