Autumn has Arrived
How are you? We are doing okay. Going through a number of transitions over here. One being the kids start back to in-person school right after our fall break. We’re all excited about this but as with everything these days we are taking it one day at a time.
Nashville is opening up more and more. Masks are still required but it’s so nice to see more people out and about. I’ve noticed a few leaves falling and a chill has hit the air.
I found out last week that a person I greatly admired passed away. Her name was Lisa. She had a sure and strong faith in God that led her to an amazing life of service. A wonderful example to so many. I’m grateful to have crossed paths with her and for her eternity in heaven.
Here is a link to our fall traditions. I’m looking forward to an evening cup of Trader Joe’s Harvest Blend tea (the one with a fox on the package).
My friend, Heather, sells super cool art boxes for kids or adults. Check them out here! Each box comes with materials for four projects plus video tutorial instructions. By purchasing, you help give to a community that otherwise could not afford art materials and instruction.
Have you guys watched Peanut Butter Falcon? Brent and I watched it for date night. I totally love the folk and bluegrass soundtrack.
I’ve been enjoying the First 5 App for daily devotions (it’s free). The current study is titled The Answer to Your Deepest Longings: 40 Days Through the Bible.
Grant’s been reading The Wingfeather Saga. The books are fantasy novels written by Andrew Peterson. Our neighbor recommended the book series. It’s described as, “full of characters rich in heart, smarts and courage.” The author is a Christian, musician and lives right outside Nashville.
I’m a big fan of Brooks running shoes. I just got my second pair. I went with the Ghost, most comfortable running shoe I’ve ever owned plus a major bonus is that the shoe strings stay tied! I bought the previous years model, Ghost 12, to save a little money. I had a bright pair, mostly fuchisa and purple, this time I went with black. I’m still deciding which I like best. What is your opinion on running shoe colors?
My sister recently mentioned a podcast about decorating for fall. It’s titled At Home: Start with Your Senses. Be sure to check out the autumn playlists she shares.
I made spice cake with browned butter frosting last weekend. It was a hit!
Looking for some super cute earrings? My friend, Kelly, loves crafting and she makes the most beautiful earrings using genuine leather or polymer clay. I especially like the live simply collection. Shop here!
During this time of great uncertainty for many of us I found this quote by Elisabeth Elliot to be helpful.
“It is always possible to be thankful for what is given rather than resentful over what is withheld. One attitude or the other becomes a way of life.”
– Elisabeth Elliot

If you purchase from a link on this blog a small percentage of the sale may come back to me. You are never charged more for the product. It’s a way to keep this site going and I’m very selective about the things I list. It’s mostly things we already own and love or things I think you would enjoy. Thank you for reading!
