Some Good Stuff to Try this Weekend

These enormous pine trees are in our neighborhood. I pass them when I’m out for a walk. They make me so happy.

Almost a month into 2019, can you believe it? How have things been for you so far this year? I’ve been pretty busy but enjoying the routine.

Grant started basketball on a local team, so that’s a new experience for us. I love watching him play and after he made his first basket he looked directly at me. (Insert heart eyes) Below are some treasures I’ve been saving up for you. I hope this weekend you find rest and sweet memories.

If you are looking for a good foreign film and don’t mind subtitles I suggest Little Forest (Korean) or The Wedding Plan (Israeli). If you’re not big into International films take a chance on one of these, I think you’ll find out you’re a fan.

Challenge: Create Something Every Day

Something that keeps coming up in my mind as I think about this new year is the word create. I have always liked to create but for some reason, I have been too busy, too stressed, too time-pressed to create. This year that is going to change.

I have challenged myself to do something creative every day.

Drawing a snowflake counts as well as preparing a complex new recipe for dinner. It does not have to be elaborate but I have to be the one doing it. Watching someone else create doesn’t count. Seeing a moving performance of someone who is excellent at their craft will not cut it. The idea is for me to be engaged in something every day that I make myself.
