3 Days Without Power

What a week! On Sunday evening as we were cooking dinner and prepping for the coming week, a rain storm hit. We were expecting rain later in the evening around 7:00. Strangely, a little before 5:00, strong straight line winds, a Derecho, hit.

A Black Tie Mistake

I know we all have stories of embarrassing things that have happened to us. Sometimes, I feel like they happen more often to me. Like the time as a high school cheerleader, I did a high kick in the middle of the football field. I kicked with so much force I landed flat on the ground. Forehead slap! The truth is I know I’m not alone. Also, the good news is MOST of the time I can laugh at myself.

8 Enjoyable Family Read-Aloud Books

Reading chapter books with my boys is one of my favorite ways to connect with them. We’ve been doing it on the weekends and in the summers since Grant was about five or six years old. I’ll read to them before rest time and Brent reads to them before bed. It’s rarely a full chapter but we read a little and discuss. It’s so fun to experience the adventures with them.
