The Russell: A Stay in Eclectic East Nashville

For our anniversary this year, we decided on a get-a-way in our own city. With COVID-19 cases rising and travel being limited we thought it would be a great opportunity to explore an area close to home. East Nashville is a hip, creative area with murals, yummy food spots and lots of color.

Taking Social Media Breaks

I love social media. I love taking photos, thinking of captions, commenting, catching up; I love the whole bit. On the other side of the coin, sometimes, it drains my emotional tank and leaves me empty. It’s hard to see so many people, many whom I haven’t see in person in years or have never even met in real life, go through really challenging times. I care therefore I carry the burden. Also, at times the comparison trap can grab and suffocate me.

A Summer Weekend in Providence, Rhode Island

Last summer we wanted to get away for a little weekend trip for our anniversary. We looked at flights from Nashville to places such as Savannah, New Orleans, and Charleston but the flights were more pricy than we were wanting to pay. After further searching, Brent found the explore feature on Kayak, which lets you find flights anywhere from your city. He quickly located a super cheap round trip flight to Providence, Rhode Island. We booked it!
